Established in 1966, the Arouca Community Council is the not-for-profit community authority responsible for advocacy, coordination, and development in Arouca.

Governance & Leadership

The Arouca Community Council is governed by an elected Executive, which serves as the principal governing body of the organization and is responsible for policy, administration, financial oversight, and discipline in accordance with the Constitution.

About the Arouca Community Council

Established in 1966, the Arouca Community Council operates as the representative authority for the community of Arouca. Its mandate is established by a formal Constitution, which defines the Council's responsibility for community coordination, advocacy, and development.

The Council functions under constitutional authority to manage community affairs and represent resident interests. Its administrative scope is focused on the geographical development and governance of Arouca, providing a structured framework for the legal and civic representation of its membership.

Community Initiatives

The Council coordinates programmes and initiatives in support of community development, education, welfare, and civic participation, in keeping with its constitutional objectives.

Sustainable Development

Structural Infrastructure & Growth

Facilitating projects focused on physical infrastructure improvements and identifying priority zones for development within the Arouca community, ensuring all initiatives align with long-term strategic plans.

Youth & Education

Skill Development & Learning

Empowering the next generation through youth-led workshops, educational scholarships, and community learning programs designed to build capacity and academic excellence across all demographics.

Welfare & Civic Duty

Inclusive Advocacy & Support

Coordinating social support systems for vulnerable citizens and fostering a culture of active civic engagement. The Council ensures that every resident has a voice in the collective development of Arouca.

All bookings are request-based and subject to approval by the Executive of the Arouca Community Council.
